Larry and the crew head out onto the frozen expanse of Sturgeon Bay with one goal in mind: filling the bucket with jumbo perch. But as the morning sun rises, the fish remain tight-lipped. With the sonar screens looking like a ghost town and the temperature dropping, Larry decides it’s time to pull an audible. Abandoning the perch beds, the team shifts gears to hunt for the bay’s legendary trophy walleyes. The transition isn't easy—hours of grinding in the freezing wind yield nothing but empty hooks. As the sun begins to dip toward the horizon, it looks like a rare "skunk" day for the Larry Smith team. Then, everything changes. With only 30 minutes of daylight remaining, the "Golden Hour" arrives with a vengeance. The screen lights up, the rods double over, and it’s absolute chaos on the ice.
